iHeart Radio: CEO’s You Should Know - Julie Kernan, CEO at Business Volunteer Maryland

Julie joined Business Volunteers Maryland in January 2019 as the President & CEO. Business Volunteers brings the talents of local business professionals to nonprofit organizations seeking volunteers and board leadership; helps companies create and maintain productive community engagement programs that involve employees at all levels; and, offers training and learning seminars for business leaders on issues of corporate social responsibility and nonprofit board governance.

In her role, Julie provides organizational direction and leadership, engages and leads the staff and Board of Directors, and develops and executes the long-term strategic vision. She works closely with business and nonprofit leaders to ensure mutual objectives are met or exceeded.

Prior to joining Business Volunteers, Julie was the Vice President for Global Account Management for the Baltimore-based global testing company, Prometric. She led the company’s women’s leadership group where she was instrumental in connecting Prometric to nonprofit organizations and volunteering opportunities. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women (BLSYW).
